About Elizabeth “Libby” Connolly Alexander

Libby Alexander standing at wallAfter graduating from Tulane University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, Libby Connolly Alexander joined her father’s budding recovery audit business, Connolly, Inc. (now known as Cotiviti), where she subsequently spent the next 30+ years building the organization from the ground up.

In 1990 Libby, along with her brother Larry and her husband Robert, assumed leadership of the company, which at the time had annual sales revenues of $5 million. Together they created a significant technological competitive advantage by establishing personal computer-driven data mining and analytics capabilities. They were also simultaneously leveraging technology to expand the business geographically and into new market segments.

In 1998, Connolly, Inc. entered the unknown healthcare payment integrity industry, utilizing a growth engine unlike any it had previously leveraged. Libby took the lead in establishing and building the healthcare business from square one, ultimately serving as CEO of Connolly Healthcare and subsequently as CEO of the entire company.

The exponential growth of the healthcare business facilitated the company’s first outside investment by a private equity partner in 2012 and the acquisition of iHealth Technologies in 2014, after which Libby became vice chairman of the board. The combined company was rebranded as Cotiviti and executed an initial public offering in 2016. Eighteen months later, Cotiviti was sold and moved into the private sector for $4.9 billion. With this shift, Libby transitioned off the board and now supports other companies’ paths of growing and prospering.
